Understanding The Bible Better
“I will open my mouth in parables. I will utter things which have
been kept secret from the foundation of the world.”
— Matthew 13:34-35
The Bible speaks of the birth of a universe in seven days, the conception of sin due to the eating of a fruit, an ancient high-rise brought down by internal differences, a dragon lying in wait for the coming of a blessed child, a woman transformed into a pillar of salt just because she turned to look at a burning city…
All this is true and much of it has already come to pass, but probably not in the way we have believed so far. What if science and religion are just two ways of looking at the same thing? What if everybody has been taking things a little too literally?
In this age of hatred and self-drawn boundaries, it’s time we widened our perspectives. And with it, our understanding of the Bible.
